The lavender flower people look for in Dubai is usually one of two quite different things: the Mediterranean herb with the grey-green spikes, or the soft violet tone that runs through a bouquet. We should settle the first one straight away. Amicis does not stock Lavandula, fresh, dried or preserved, and no arrangement on the site contains it.
What we do hold is the colour, across several different flowers. Lavender roses, lavender hydrangea, lavender carnations, lavender orchids and lavender allium all appear in the catalogue, and this guide works through which arrangement carries which, and who each one suits.
Does Amicis sell the lavender flower, fresh or dried?
No, and it is better to say so before you read any further. The plant is a Mediterranean one, and its requirements are specific. The RHS describes lavender as Mediterranean in its needs if not always in its geographic origin, says it wants fast-draining soil and a great deal of sun, and adds that it will not thrive in heavy clay or ground that waterlogs, where it can suffer root rots.
We are florists rather than growers, so we will not tell you how the plant behaves in a Dubai garden. What we can tell you is what goes into the boxes we send.

If what you wanted was a lasting piece with that dusty, dried-stem character, Opaline Muse is the closest thing we make. White phalaenopsis orchid spires arch above blooms in a soft lavender tone, with cotton stems, lotus pods and dried botanicals beneath them, and its own page notes that the dried elements hold their form long after the fresh stems are finished. Four sizes are priced at 500, 650, 800 and 1,000 dirhams, and it sits in our preserved collection.
What our lasting pieces are built from
- Lotus pods, cotton stems and pampas, for structure and a matte texture.
- Dried botanicals set alongside fresh stems, so one piece carries both registers.
Our guide to dried and preserved flowers in Dubai covers the wider category.
What does the lavender flower symbolise?
Less kindly than the colour does. English Heritage, writing about the Victorian language of flowers, notes that a sprig of lavender could be read as distrust, and lavender turns up in the bouquet that same page nominates as the worst one you could possibly send.
That code was a nineteenth-century fashion rather than a rule, and English Heritage adds that the meanings behind it are fading. The colour is a separate matter from the plant and carries none of that history, which is the practical argument for thinking about lavender as a tone rather than a species. For the wider palette, see flower colours and what they mean.

Ardour is the darkest violet design we make. Lavender roses and stock hold the centre, purple chrysanthemums and allium spheres cap the top, pale anthurium fans sideways, plum calla lilies drop below the copper box, and a cloud of violet asparagus fern softens every edge. Four sizes are priced at 700, 1,150, 1,630 and 2,500 dirhams.
How to read the lavender tone
- It sits between pink and blue, so it suits anyone who finds pink too sweet and blue too cold.
- It is a deliberate colour rather than a default one.
- It holds up next to green, which is why so many of these designs lean on foliage.
Which roses come in a lavender shade?
Lavender roses are the easiest way into the colour, because the flower itself is familiar and only the shade is unexpected. They carry affection without the declaration red makes, which puts them within reach for a sister, a close friend, a mother, or a relationship early enough that red would say too much.

Sweet Lilac is the nearest thing we make to a single-colour lavender piece. Twelve lavender roses sit close enough to read as one block of colour, pale pink pompon chrysanthemums break the line where it meets the four purple allium globes overhead, and all the movement comes from one side: a heavy fall of dusty-pink amaranthus, eremurus spires angled upward, a magenta phalaenopsis low down. Four sizes run at 750, 1,200, 1,500 and 1,800 dirhams.
For the same rose in a cooler setting, Vera 02 sets lavender roses among Bells of Ireland, green anthuriums, chrysanthemum, hydrangea, allium and fern, in four sizes from 700 up to 1,500 dirhams.
Who lavender roses suit
- A birthday where you would rather the bouquet was remembered than merely liked.
- A thank you that should feel warm without reading as romantic.
- A design-led home, where violet and green sit together more comfortably than pink and green do.
What does lavender hydrangea bring to a bouquet?
Volume, and a colour that stays soft at scale. A hydrangea head is dozens of small florets at once, so one stem covers ground that would take a handful of roses, and in lavender it spreads the tone through the whole arrangement instead of dotting it about.

Bloom Theory is built from four elements only: lavender hydrangea heads, deep purple carnations, allium tendrils and palm fronds trailing for height. It comes in one size at 1,235 dirhams, gathered in a fluted white ceramic vase, so it arrives ready to place on a console or a dining table. There is more of the flower across our hydrangea arrangements.
Where you want the lavender softened with pink, Eclipse/04 runs soft pink roses and lavender hydrangea together with blush gerbera, delphinium spikes and plum calla lilies, in four sizes at 500, 800, 950 and 1,050 dirhams.
Where lavender hydrangea works best
- A console or a dining table, where the volume reads from across the room.
- A gift that has to arrive finished, since a vase piece needs no handling at the other end.
- A palette you want to keep quiet, because the colour spreads rather than spikes.
Which lavender orchids can you send in Dubai?
Orchids give the colour an entirely different texture. A phalaenopsis petal is waxy and flat where a rose is layered, so a lavender orchid reads cool and composed, and the arching stem does the work that foliage does elsewhere.

Salver 04 arcs lavender phalaenopsis orchids through the centre of a white artisan tray, between deep crimson roses and burgundy amaranthus trailing over the edge. It is low and wide rather than tall, built to define a table instead of filling it, at 1,700 dirhams.
In a brighter register, Sweet Love works lavender orchids into a vase piece with bird of paradise, sunflowers, pink anthuriums, blush and cream roses, blue delphiniums and pink gerberas, at 1,200 dirhams. There is more of the flower in our orchid collection.
Why orchids suit the colour
- The flat, waxy petal keeps lavender looking cool rather than washed out.
- One stem carries several blooms, so a little of the colour goes a long way.
- They sit beside red without a clash, which few lavender flowers manage.
Is the lavender flower the same as lilac?
No, and the overlap between the two words is half the reason this page exists. Lilac is Syringa, a different plant altogether, and our own arrangements use the words that way: lilac syringa in one piece, lavender carnations in another. The trouble starts when lavender, lilac and mauve get used interchangeably as colour words, so the search and the shelf stop matching.

The lilac we do hold. Sunlit Symphony works lilac syringa into a bright, generous bouquet with sunflowers, phalaenopsis orchids, peach garden roses, hydrangea and cascading burgundy amaranthus, in four sizes at 700, 900, 1,200 and 1,500 dirhams.
Our arrangement named Syringa, confusingly, takes the colour rather than the shrub: lavender carnations and soft purple hydrangea, with peach and yellow gerbera, green viburnum and trails of rust-bronze amaranthus, in a single size at 500 dirhams.
Three purples worth keeping apart
- Lavender, the paler and greyer of the violets.
- Lilac, the pinker violet, named after the shrub.
- Mauve, which sits closer to a dusty pink than to either of them.
Where does a lavender note work in a warm palette?
Lavender sits most easily among greens, whites and pinks, but a small amount of it inside a warm arrangement does something the warm colours cannot do for themselves. It interrupts the amber and caramel and stops the whole piece reading as one flat note.

Bouquet No. 1925 is the clearest example we have. Caramel roses and bronzed hydrangea carry the body of it, sculptural anthuriums cut a graphic line across the softness, and lavender allium rides above all of it on bare stems, a row of pale violet spheres with air around them. Four sizes run at 600, 800, 1,000 and 2,000 dirhams.
For the same idea in pink rather than amber, Amethyst fills the spaces between pink garden roses and mauve hydrangea with lavender carnations, with plum calla lilies cascading below, in four sizes from 650 to 1,800 dirhams.
Using lavender as an accent
- Keep it to one flower, so it reads as a note and not a second theme.
- Put it on bare stems above the body of the arrangement, where the colour has air around it.
- Carnations are the quietest way in, since they fill rather than lead.
How do you send a message with lavender-toned flowers?
Every product page carries a field marked Write a love letter, and that is where your message for the recipient goes. Open with their name and sign off with yours in full, since the card may be read out in front of other people. On designs that offer a Notecard option, including Vera 02 and Amicis Blush, you also choose the colour of the attached card from red, pink, blue, white, green or purple, and purple is the one that picks the flowers up.
A printed greeting card can be added to the same order at 25 dirhams. Birthday wishes is a tiled grid of soft peach and pale lilac, divided by fine lilac rules, with its message set in deep navy across four lines, which puts it nearer these palettes than most birthday cards get. You're the Best is the brighter option for a thank you.
How much does a lavender-toned arrangement cost in Dubai?

Frequently asked questions about the lavender flower
Does lavender grow in a Dubai garden?
That is a question for a nursery, since we sell cut arrangements rather than plants. What we can pass on is what NC State Extension publishes: Lavandula angustifolia is listed for USDA hardiness zones 5a to 9b, wants perfectly drained soil and full sun, and will not tolerate wet roots or heavy clay.
Is dried lavender better than fresh in the UAE?
We sell neither, so we cannot compare them honestly. The choice we can actually put in front of you is between an arrangement that is entirely fresh and one that mixes fresh stems with dried work, as Opaline Muse does above. The second kind leaves something in the room once the fresh part is finished, which matters if you want the gift to be a fixture rather than an occasion.
How long does dried lavender keep its scent?
We have no figure to give you, because we have never stocked it and we will not pass on a number we cannot stand behind. If scent matters more than colour, say so in the order notes and our florists will tell you which stems in a given design carry fragrance.
Which Amicis arrangements are built mostly on the lavender tone?
Sort them by how much of the piece the colour actually occupies. Sweet Lilac and Bloom Theory carry it as the whole scheme, Ardour pushes the same idea further into violet, and everywhere else it is one voice among several. The table above names the element carrying the colour in each design, which is the quicker way to judge.
Can you add lavender to a bouquet if I ask?
We can build around the lavender shade on a Bespoke commission, working with roses, hydrangea, carnations, orchids or allium in that tone. What we cannot add is the herb itself, as above, and we would rather say so at the briefing than on the day.
Is lavender the right colour for a wedding table?
As an accent, yes; as the whole scheme, it fights the white most tables are built on. Hold one lavender flower across every table and let ivory and green carry the rest, or commission the palette through Bespoke.
Can I choose a purple card to go with the flowers?
On designs with a Notecard option, including Vera 02 and Amicis Blush, purple is one of six colours for the attached card. That option sets the card colour only and does not change the flowers.
Which lavender-toned arrangement gives the most colour for the least money?
Syringa, at 500 dirhams, since both its carnations and its hydrangea sit in that register. Amicis Blush opens lower at 450 dirhams and holds lilac alliums, but it spends most of its palette on blush and peach, so you are buying less of the colour you came for.
Can a lavender-toned arrangement arrive the same day in Dubai?
Yes. Order by 4:30pm for the 10am to 6pm window, or by 9pm for the 4pm to 11pm window. Sharjah and Ajman close at 2:30pm and 8:30pm, Abu Dhabi at 4pm and 7:30pm, and the far emirates at 4pm.
Which lavender-toned arrangements come in their own vase?
Bloom Theory arrives in a fluted white ceramic vase and Sweet Love in a premium vase, so both can be set down as they are, and Salver 04 is a low tray piece. Of the boxed designs, Ardour comes in the signature copper box, Sweet Lilac in a cream Amicis box and Vera 02 in the Amicis box.
