Engaged announces itself. The front is bubblegum pink, ruled with a fine white grid, and scattered with deep red hearts at every scale from small to almost half the card. Over the top, YOU DID IT is set in a glossy inflated typeface that looks pressed rather than printed, each letter rounded and highlighted as though lit from above.
Beneath it, in the same treatment at smaller size, sits YOU GOT ENGAGED. The two lines together give the card its tone: congratulatory rather than sentimental, closer to how people actually react to the news than to how greeting cards usually put it.
The three-dimensional type effect is achieved in the print rather than by embossing, which keeps the surface flat and the finish clean. It is printed on a weighty uncoated stock, and the envelope supplied is kraft brown, a deliberately plain choice that lets the front do all the work.
Inside the card is blank. It is made for the first reaction to an engagement, so it works best sent quickly rather than saved for the party. Pair it with something celebratory: pink flowers are the natural match, and roses read as the more traditional choice. See the full notecard range.
The card is A6 folded with a blank inside page. The kraft envelope is unlined and takes ink well, so it can be addressed by hand without bleeding, which matters for a card that will likely be kept. It is sent flat in a protective sleeve, and when ordered with an arrangement it travels alongside rather than inside, so neither the card nor the flowers are damaged in transit.
Engaged is written for the announcement:
- Engagement congratulations, sent as soon as you hear
- Proposals accepted and newly engaged couples
- Engagement parties and celebration dinners
- Sent with pink flowers or roses
- Blank inside, for your own message
