Happy Birthday Sun-Moon is the gentlest birthday card in the range. The ground is a soft cream gingham, drawn by hand so the lines waver slightly and the squares are not quite even, which gives the whole card a warmth that a printed check would not have.
At the centre, a pink sun with a face looks out from behind a dotted corona of pointed rays, and a pink crescent moon tucks in beside it, eyes closed and cheek flushed. The two share the same blush pink and the same simple hand-drawn features: a small nose, a curved mouth, two orange cheeks each. Five orange stars scatter around them at different sizes.
happy birthday! is hand-lettered in black beneath the illustration, small and casual, and it is the only text on the card. The scale is deliberate: the drawing is doing the talking.
