To keep the fresh roses and anthuriums at their best, trim the stems on arrival, refresh the water every couple of days and keep the arrangement out of direct sun; the preserved and dried elements need only to be kept dry and dust-free.

Keep Wild Stem in a clean vase of fresh, cool water and out of direct sun, away from any draught or heat that would tire the blooms early. Roses drink heavily, so check the water level daily and top it up; they wilt fastest when the vase runs low. The anthurium is more forgiving but dislikes cold, and its waxy spathe lasts longest when wiped gently and kept clear of crowding. Recut the rose stems on a sharp diagonal every couple of days to keep them taking up water, and strip any lower leaves that would otherwise sit below the waterline and cloud it.
