Yay Baby! says the thing people actually say. The whole front is given over to four words, yay! you had a baby, set in a rounded inflated typeface that looks pressed and lit from above, each letter highlighted along one edge as though it has volume.
No two letters share a colour. The type runs through orange, gold, powder blue, lilac, deep purple, magenta and red across the four lines, which means the card reads as celebration before it reads as text. Two small four-point sparkles sit at the top left and bottom right, and that is the entire decoration.
The ground is a flat dusty pink, deliberately soft against the brightness of the lettering, and a clean white border frames the printed panel. It is printed on a heavy uncoated stock so the surface stays matte, which keeps the glossy type effect firmly in the artwork rather than in the finish. A yellow envelope is included.
Inside it is blank. This is a card for the first message rather than a formal one, so it works best sent quickly, in the days rather than the weeks after. Pair it with a newborn arrangement, or with something bright and unfussy if the gender is not the point. See the full notecard range.
The card is A6 folded with a blank inside page, printed on a stock heavy enough to stand on a windowsill or shelf, which is where most new-baby cards end up for the first few weeks. It is sent flat in a protective sleeve. Ordered with flowers, it travels beside the arrangement rather than inside it, so it arrives dry and unmarked at a moment when nobody has time to deal with either.
Yay Baby! is written for new arrivals:
- Newborn congratulations for either a boy or a girl
- First hospital and home visits
- Baby showers and welcome gifts
- Sent with a newborn arrangement or a bright bouquet
- Blank inside, for your own message
