Yeehaaa HBD is a western birthday card drawn with a straight face. Two red cowboy hats sit at the top of the card, angled towards each other, and two black cowboy boots stand side by side at the bottom, each one embroidered with small pink flowers and green leaves down the shaft.
Between them, YEEHAW ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY is set in heavy red block capitals across three lines, filling the middle of the card completely. The type is doing as much work as the illustration, and the layout is symmetrical to the point of being formal, which is what makes the joke land.
The ground is a flat mid pink, the hats and lettering share the same red, and the boots supply the only black on the card. It is printed on a substantial uncoated stock with a matte surface, and a red envelope is supplied that matches the hats rather than the background.
Blank inside. It suits birthdays for someone with a sense of humour and a taste for the specific: line dancing, country music, a trip to Texas, or simply a friend who would find a tasteful card boring. Send it with something bright rather than soft, and browse all notecards.
The card is A6 folded with a full blank inside page. It is sent flat in a protective sleeve so the flat red areas arrive unscuffed, which uncoated stock in a strong colour is prone to. When ordered with an arrangement it travels alongside rather than inside it. Cards can also be ordered on their own if the flowers are coming from somewhere else.
Yeehaaa HBD is written for birthdays with a sense of humour:
- Birthdays for friends who would find a serious card dull
- Country, western and line-dancing enthusiasts
- Birthday parties with a theme
- Sent with a bright, graphic arrangement
- Blank inside, for your own message
