Your Guide to White Flowers in Dubai
The Whitest PiecesWhite Blush is white hydrangea with trailing cream amaranthus. +
White Blush is white hydrangea with trailing cream amaranthus. Empress’s Bouquet gathers white and cream roses with hydrangea and a few yellow orchids. Opaline Muse is built around a white phalaenopsis orchid with pale pastel stems and dried pods.
Amoré / 13 combines cream roses and white hydrangea with dried grasses, Hilal Bloom moves from cream to soft yellow, and Parasol Twist adds a paper-white fan to cream and yellow roses.
Weddings, Homes and Quiet OccasionsWhite is the default for weddings, and our bridal bouquets start from the same palette. +
White is the default for weddings, and our bridal bouquets start from the same palette. It is also the colour most people choose for sympathy flowers, and it sits easily in a pale interior where a coloured arrangement would compete.
White petals show bruising sooner than coloured ones, so keep the arrangement out of direct sun and top up the water daily. Hydrangea, which appears in most of these pieces, drinks a lot, so check it often.
White for the Dining TableA white arrangement is easy to place on a dining table, because it does not compete with the food or the tableware. +
A white arrangement is easy to place on a dining table, because it does not compete with the food or the tableware. Keep it low enough to see across, and choose a piece that arrives in its own vessel so it can go straight down.
Choosing the Right WhiteWhite is not one colour. +
White is not one colour. Pure white, as in the hydrangea of White Blush, looks crisp against dark furniture. Cream and ivory, as in the roses of Empress’s Bouquet and Amoré / 13, are warmer and sit better in rooms with wood, brass or beige walls. Soft yellow, as in Hilal Bloom, warms the palette further.
White is also a safe colour to send when you are unsure of the recipient’s taste, and it avoids the associations a red or a pink can carry. For a new baby or a housewarming it works as well as it does for a wedding.
