Basket of red roses tied with an Amicis ribbon, a proposal arrangement in Dubai

Which Proposal Flowers Dubai Florists Recommend?

Proposal flowers Dubai couples order do two separate jobs, and the second one is easy to forget. The first is the piece that appears at the moment itself, where scale and a single colour matter more than variety. The second is the engagement party that follows, where flowers have to hold a table and an entrance rather than a pair of hands.

Red roses remain the obvious answer for the proposal. Softer pink and lilac work better for the party, where the arrangements sit in the room for hours. Below are the pieces we hold for both, with real prices, and a plain account of what our consultation does and does not cover.

What flowers suit a proposal?

Red roses, because they are unambiguous. Clemson University's Home and Garden Information Center calls red roses universal symbols for love and passion, which is what you want when the flowers speak first. The pieces below are built on the darker end of red rather than one flat shade, and in each of them the roses hold the centre rather than sitting among other flowers.

Roses Top pair of deep red rose centrepieces with taper candles, a proposal arrangement from Amicis Dubai

Roses Top arrives as two pieces rather than one, meant to sit at two heights on a single table. Both are packed with deep red roses so closely that almost no leaf shows, a single near-black dahlia stands clear above each on its own stem, and tight clusters of glossy viburnum berries sit between the blooms. A rose-pink taper candle rises out of each one, bound at its base with fine gold thread. The pair is 750 dirhams.

For one piece instead of a pair, Bordeaux runs through several reds at the same time. Crimson roses and gerbera hold the front, oxblood anthurium and dark burgundy cymbidium orchids pull the palette down, hydrangea and carnations fill in behind, with red amaranthus trailing low down one side and plumes of dyed pampas opening on the far side. It comes in four sizes at 750, 1,200, 1,720 and 2,600 dirhams.

Choosing the red before you order

  • Check whether the piece arrives in a vase, a basket or a box.
  • A pair suits a table, a single piece suits flowers you will carry.
  • Decide whether you want roses only, or roses with other flowers around them.

Which arrangement works as a single statement piece?

Scale is the one thing a proposal piece cannot fake. A size that fills a dining table does not fill a hotel lobby or a rooftop, so where the flowers are the only decoration, buy volume rather than variety. The most direct version of that is a basket holding nothing but roses.

Cupid's Promise dome of red roses in a white woven basket, the largest Amicis proposal piece in Dubai

Cupid's Promise carries no filler flowers at all: a dome of red roses set tight inside a white woven basket, finished with ribbon. Its page gives a bloom count per size, 300 roses for the Small rising to 800 for the XLarge, and the four sizes are priced at 5,000, 8,500, 10,000 and 15,000 dirhams.

For a vase piece rather than a basket, True Romance has its own page listing a proposal among the occasions it is made for. Red roses hold its centre, ringed by burgundy cymbidium orchids, gerberas in deep red, blush tulips, pompon chrysanthemums and amaranthus falling in tassels, worked up with sculptural branches so it holds height on a console. Clemson's guide reads the tulip as the flower for a deep and lasting love, which is a useful second note inside a red arrangement. One size, 1,700 dirhams.

Getting the scale right

  • Measure the surface the flowers will stand on before choosing a size.
  • In an open space, put the height in one piece instead of three.
  • A basket needs no vase at the other end, which matters in a hotel room.
  • Check that someone can carry it, because the largest sizes are not hand-held.

Can a florist set up flowers for a proposal in Dubai?

Our events page lists engagements among the private celebrations we style, alongside birthday dinners, anniversaries and baby showers, and it defines a special setup as "statement centerpieces, table florals, welcome arrangements, and decorative accents". Those four are the scope as we publish it. We do not publish a proposal setup service, so what we can commit to in advance is the piece itself and the delivery window it arrives in, and anything that depends on access to a venue is a conversation rather than something you add to a cart.

The way to begin that conversation is the consultation form. Our page puts it plainly: "The consultation is complimentary, and there is nothing to purchase to book it." It also says our florists reach out within one business day. Event is the consultation type to pick for a proposal, and the free text field is where the detail belongs.

Amicis Bespoke floral commission in Dubai, designed to brief for a proposal or engagement

Where the piece itself is the setup, Bespoke is the commission route. Its page describes a brief covering the occasion, the mood, your preferred colours and the setting that will hold the piece, and it stretches from a small hand-tied gift to florals for a whole ceremony across a venue, at 800, 1,000, 1,700 and 2,500 dirhams by size. For something larger, Bespoke Structure is built to brief at tabletop scale or as an installation that anchors a venue, priced at 2,500, 3,500, 5,000 and 15,000 dirhams.

Questions to put to the venue before you fix the flowers

  • Will the venue let a florist in, and at what time?
  • Who signs for a delivery that arrives before you do?
  • Are open flames allowed, since Roses Top holds lit taper candles?
  • Is the space indoors, and if not, how long will the flowers stand outside?

How far in advance should you order proposal flowers?

It depends on which piece you are buying. A stocked arrangement can leave the same day inside the cut-offs in the delivery table further down. A made-to-order piece depends on the brief and on the day, since its flowers are brought in once the brief is settled.

Two figures from our own pages are worth having. The bespoke collection page says this: "Bespoke pieces are made to order, with same-day delivery across Dubai and the UAE where timing allows." Our corporate page then puts "custom installations, branded gifting and event work" at two to five working days, because the flowers a brief calls for have to be brought in specially. Treat the second figure as the safe one for anything built rather than picked.

Pearl Cascade ivory hyacinth cascading bridal bouquet with pearl strands by Amicis Dubai

Some pieces say it on their own page. Pearl Cascade, our wired bridal piece, takes hundreds of single ivory hyacinth florets, sets each one on a thin stem and groups them into ropes long enough to hang below the hand, with pearls and crystal chain running through them. Its page notes it suits weddings and formal engagements, and that because every floret is wired by hand the bouquet "needs to be commissioned well in advance rather than ordered at short notice". It is 2,500 dirhams.

What the consultation form asks for

  • Your name, with a phone or WhatsApp number and an email address.
  • A consultation type: Event, Baby Reception, Wedding, Corporate or Other.
  • A preferred date.
  • A description of the occasion, which is where the venue and the timing go.

What flowers suit an engagement party?

Party flowers have a different job. They stay in the room for hours, with people sitting behind them and reaching across them, so height and palette matter more than drama. Keep the red for the proposal and run the party in softer pinks and lilacs.

Amethyst arrangement of pink garden roses, mauve hydrangea and plum calla lilies for an engagement party in Dubai

Amethyst stays inside the range between pink, lilac and violet: pink garden roses at the centre, mauve hydrangea for volume, blush gerberas and lavender carnations through the body, and plum calla lilies cascading below. Four sizes at 650, 850, 1,200 and 1,800 dirhams make it the one design here you can repeat across several tables without the cost running away.

Bespoke Letter floral initial built from hydrangea, roses and anthurium for an engagement party entrance in Dubai

For the entrance, or the corner where photographs happen, Bespoke Letter is a floral sculpture shaped to one chosen initial and built from hydrangeas, roses, gerberas, tulips and anthuriums. It comes at four heights, 60, 80, 100 and 120 centimetres, priced at 1,700, 2,500, 3,000 and 4,000 dirhams. On a console, Amaranthine hangs blush Phalaenopsis orchids over dried palms, pampas and preserved foliage in a statement vase at 2,800 dirhams, and Clemson's guide reads the moth orchid as a flower of love, beauty, luxury and strength.

Flowers for the party tables

  • Hold one palette across every table rather than varying it by table.
  • Low pieces let guests see each other, tall pieces belong at the entrance.
  • Repeat one design in a smaller size instead of buying several different ones.
  • Put the initial piece where people stop, not where they walk through.

What do you write on the card at an engagement?

Every product page carries a field marked Write a love letter, and what you type there is printed and sent with the flowers. Open with the recipient's name and close with yours in full, since an engagement card may well be read out in front of other people.

Engaged greeting card in bubblegum pink with red hearts, an engagement card from Amicis Dubai at 25 dirhams

For a printed card next to the message, Engaged is a greeting card at 25 dirhams rather than an arrangement, so it goes on the same order as the flowers. Its front is bubblegum pink over a fine white grid, with red hearts at every size across it, YOU DID IT and YOU GOT ENGAGED in a glossy inflated type, and a blank page inside. Its page positions the card as the one you send on hearing the news, not the one you keep back for the party.

How much do proposal and engagement flowers cost in Dubai?

Pieces in the bespoke collection start at 350 dirhams for a Moon Flower Structure, and a full Bespoke commission starts at 800. The arrangements in this guide run from 650 dirhams for the smallest Amethyst up to 15,000 for the largest rose basket, and the table gathers every size and price.

When can proposal flowers be delivered in Dubai?

You choose the delivery date, the time slot and the area on the product page itself. The table shows the latest order time for same-day delivery in each emirate. A slot is a window of several hours rather than an appointment, so pick the one that closes before your moment.

Frequently asked questions about proposal flowers in Dubai

Do proposal flowers have to be red?

No. Amethyst stays entirely inside pink, lilac and violet, and a Bespoke commission is built to whatever palette you hand us. Whichever colour you settle on, keep one colour running right through the piece rather than mixing several, and the prices for both sit in the table above.

Which of these pieces lasts longest?

Bordeaux, among the fresh arrangements: its page notes the cymbidium orchids hold their blooms for weeks once the roses have finished. Amaranthine goes further, since its dried palms, pampas and preserved foliage need only dusting to hold for months.

Can I order proposal flowers for the same day?

A stocked arrangement, yes, inside the cut-offs in the delivery table above. The exception is a wired piece such as Pearl Cascade, where every floret is set by hand, so its own page asks for advance notice instead of a same-day order.

Do you deliver to hotels and beach venues in Dubai?

We deliver to the address you give us on the product page, which can be a hotel. Whether the courier can reach a room, a terrace or a stretch of beach is the venue's decision rather than ours, so ask reception who will sign and where the flowers can wait.

Will the flowers last through an outdoor evening?

They last less well outdoors than in, and the reason is measurable. Purdue University Extension notes that heat shortens flower life because ageing runs faster at high temperature, and that drafty spots should be avoided because warm or moving air pulls water out of flowers faster than the stems can take it up.

Does the piece arrive with a vase?

It depends which piece. True Romance is built in its own vase and Amaranthine in a statement vase, Roses Top comes as two vessels of its own, Cupid's Promise is a woven basket, and Bordeaux arrives in our copper box with red tissue.

Which of these pieces has a scent?

In Roses Top the roses are the only source of fragrance, a warm honeyed note with nothing else competing. Pearl Cascade carries the most of anything here, since hyacinth is strongly fragrant in a way cascading bouquets rarely are, and Amethyst adds a note from both its garden roses and its lavender carnations.

What is the difference between Bespoke and Bespoke Structure?

Scale, and both are built to a brief rather than to a recipe, so either one can carry a flower that no stocked arrangement holds. Bespoke covers anything from a hand-tied gift upwards, while Bespoke Structure is engineered to stand through an event, from a tabletop piece to an installation that holds a whole venue. The Bespoke Structure page explains that blooms are selected after the concept is agreed rather than promised up front, so the design decides the palette. Both are priced in the table above.

Do you make the bridal bouquet as well?

Yes. Pearl Cascade is our wired ivory hyacinth cascade, and the rest sit in the bridal bouquet collection, where Bespoke Bridal Bouquet is designed from scratch to your own brief.

What should a guest send to an engagement party?

Something that can live on a table in someone else's home afterwards. Amethyst in its smallest size is the easiest choice, and the Engaged card goes on the same order while the news is still fresh.

How do I keep the flowers alive between the proposal and the party?

Purdue University Extension advises keeping cut flowers cold when they are not in use, and says their life can be doubled by putting them in a cold room or the refrigerator overnight, with any temperature below room temperature but above 35 degrees Fahrenheit prolonging it. The exception it gives is orchids, which should not go below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
